WWW Wednesday is a book list hosted by Taking on a World of Words, and I’m happy to participate today.
Three W’s:
What did you recently finish reading?
What are you currently reading?
What do you think you’ll read next?
What I recently finished :
Behind her Eyes by Sarah Pinborough
This novel requires a little bit of suspended belief (ok an awful lot, it’s fantasy really) so it shouldn’t be my kind of book at all but the secrets and lies and psychological manipulation had me completely hooked and I ended up liking it anyway. I’m quite surprised myself! And now I really can say so as well #WTFthatending!
What I’m reading now:
Blood Moon by John David Bethel
Blood Moon is based on a true story and there’s even a movie based on the story with Mark Wahlberg in the lead. Note: the real victim is sueing him and others involved for how he is portrayed in this movie. You can read an article about it here.
What I’ll (probably) read soon:
I haven’t read The Teacher (novel 1 in the DS Imogen Grey series) but The Secret ended up on my ereader and I think it’s time to tackle one of my own reads again, especially now that I’ve seen there’s a third novel pulished soon, called The Angel. I do really like all the covers in this series too!
The Secret by Katerina Diamond
Can you keep a secret? Your life depends on it…
When Bridget Reid wakes up in a locked room, terrifying memories come flooding back – of blood, pain, and desperate fear. Her captor knows things she’s never told anyone. How can she escape someone who knows all of her secrets?
As DS Imogen Grey and DS Adrian Miles search for Bridget, they uncover a horrifying web of abuse, betrayal and murder right under their noses in Exeter.
And as the past comes back to haunt her, Grey must confront her own demons. Because she knows that it can be those closest to us who hurt us the most…
So that’s it, what are you reading this week? Share your link in the comments below so that I can come and take a look !
That cover is very pretty! Hope the author of Blood Moon wins his court case.

Wow that’s interesting about Blood Moon and the whole movie situation. What do you think of Blood Moon so far? Also, the cover for The Secret is so great 🙂

Thanks Abigail! Blood Moon is quite harsh and the writing is good but more towards the informative and stocky side, not with plenty of feelings and emotions. It’s got me hooked though. Thanks for agreeing with me about that cover for The Secret!

You’re welcome. I’ll have to look into Blood Moon more, I might need to add it to my TBR

Behind her Eyes definitely requires some suspension of belief, possibly a little too much for me, but it’s very well written. Have you read any of the author’s other books? I’ve been tempted by 13 minutes but wondering if they’re all a bit weird.

No I haven’t but like you I’m tempted as well to try her last one.. Maybe not immediately but I think I will give it a go. I’m expecting it to be a bit out there as well though.

Great post, Inge! I’m currently reading Hunting Prince Dracula by Kerri Maniscalo and I’m enjoying it 🙂
I’ve never read any of these but I was once approached to review Blood Moon, though I had to decline. I didn’t know it was going to be made into a movie, how cool 🙂 The suing thing is really weird, though. .. I hope things get solved!

Yeah I received this novel last year but I accepted because it was based on a true story, that really tipped me over :-). The movie is from the ’90s or early nillies I think so it’s out for such a long time already, I forgot already how it went… You’re reading a perfect Halloween novel it seems! Happy reading Sophie!

Had me laughing at the whole fantasy bit about Behind Her Eyes. Some thrillers really do earn that label, don’t they? Hahah Happy reading, Inge!! 🙂

Have you read (and reviewed) Behind Her Eyes? I have read another ‘fantasy’ thriller but it only disappointed me so this is the first time I really appreciate the effort.

Nop, I haven’t! The only “fantasy” thriller I’ve read was The Couple Next Door because of how you just had to leave realism at the door before you can enjoy it hahaha

Oh I didn’t know that one was also a bit ‘out there’. I still have that one to read!
