New BFF: The Readers Bay

I’m welcoming The Readers Bay to the blog today. This 19 year old girl who loves lattes lives in Pakistan. She sure knows her classics and I don’t think I’ve ever met a bigger more enthusiastic fan of Jane Austen! One of her all time favorites is Pride and Prejudice. She looooves physical books and orders plenty of books from Bookoutlet as there’s no Barnes & Nobles in Pakistan. She also NEVER just buys one book at a time but two at the least. You can find out more about our intriguing blog friend on her blog The Readers Bay.

The Readers Bay

Name: TheReadersBay

What did you study or do you study now / what is your current job?

I’m currently a sophomore in University.

Do you have any other hobbies?

Umm, I love watching shows on Netflix, doing yoga, and baking!

Your favourite color?

Turquoise, purple and red

Do you collect anything (besides books)?

I love collecting diaries and bookmarks! I have approximately 16 diaries of all sizes Lol.

What’s the name of the book that you’ve had the longest? Have you read it?

The Readers Bay 03

Have you ever regretted a book you purchased? A book that sounded so promising but you wished you’d have spent your money on another book after reading it?

Me Before You by jojo Moyes. (I know my opinion is quite unpopular here, but I found it too ugh)

Do you listen to audio books?

Nope, never tried it. I feel like audiobooks completely contradict the idea of reading and getting lost in a book.

Do you have a favorite genre?

Historical fiction!!!

What is the book highest on your wishlist right now?

Strange the Dreamer! Aaaah, that cover is to die for!!

Strange 02  Strange 01

How is your library organized?

It’s not really a library. It’s like a tall, narrow shelf. So I’ve put black and beige books together since they make up more than 50% of the books I have lol. The rest are just arranged according to height (descending)

My favorite blue books:

Do you read more ebooks or physical books?

E-books. Because a lot of the books I want are either too expensive or hard to find.

Do you have a favorite book?

I have a lot of books I like, but I’ve yet to find a book for which I could die for. Lol. The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah is the only book I’ve given 5/5 stars EVER.

What’s the cover in your collection that you’re most proud of?

Of course, Caraval!

Do you have any idea how many books you own? <100, >100, >200, >300 …?

What’s the title of the last book you purchased?

I purchased three books together: I’ll give you the Sun, When breathe becomes air and The ocean at the end of the Lane

What was your favorite author when you were a child?

Enid Blyton, duh. I read ALL series written by her. Literally ALL OF THEM.

From which author do you have most books?

Sidney Sheldon

Are there books you’ve read 2 or 3 times?

Yup. There are quite a few of them. But the most I’ve read is Great Expectations by Charles Dickens. (thrice) and I’ve to read it again because I’ve forgotten the story haha (I have a very bad memory)

How many books are there on your Goodreads challenge this year and how many have you read already?

There are 30 books in my goodreads challenge this year and I’ve read 18.

Can you spell your name with the first letters of titles in your book case ?

I kind of want to stay anonymous for personal reasons, if that’s okay? That is why I didn’t disclose my name above.

  1. Interesting… I thought arranging books by height was something only I did 😀 hahaha,,, I have tried the colour scheme, the genre, the author… but I always fall back on rearranging them by height. Nothing else just works for me 😀 Nice to see someone else is the same 🙂

  2. Thank you for sharing Inge!! 🙂 Someone who collects diaries! That’s the first time I’ve heard about that one. They all look pretty cool too! And those bookmarks!!! 😮 I just grab any bookmark that crosses my paths, but I never thought of truly investing money into picking up some amazing ones though. 😮

    • Audio books are understated, but it can only mean that they’ll be very popular in the future :-). I’m guilty of not listing to audio either, I’m too fidgety and then I have to relisten so that’s no fun, but maybe when I’m calmer, in a few years, I might enjoy it more. Readers change so I don’t give up hope. It’s not that I don’t want to 🙂
