I saw this meme on Books, Vertigo and Tea and I thought this one seemed fun to join and feature on my blog from time to time as well! The original post of Goodreads Monday was posted by Lauren’s Page Turners. Thank you Lauren for this great idea. This really is a great way to help me take another look at all the books added to the wishlist so long ago and at the same time I can share some interesting titles.
There’s only one rule: Simply choose a random book from your TBR and show it off. Don’t forget to link back to Lauren’s Page turners and add your own links!
By My Side by Alice Peterson
By My Side has been on my GR ‘wishlist’ since January 2016. This heartbreaking novel of learning to live again when you seem to have lost everything has also obtained a rating of 4.18 on Goodreads.
One step can change everything…
Cass Brooks wishes she could turn back time. She’d go back to that morning and retrace her steps. Her boyfriend, Sean, would still be with her. Her mother wouldn’t be nagging her to plan a new future when all she wants is her old life back.
But when Ticket, the most loyal golden Labrador, bursts into Cass’s life, she dares to dream that she can be happy again, that maybe she has a future after all?
Charlie Bell is single. Why can’t he commit? Following his latest break up, he finds himself sitting next to a young woman called Cass on a flight to Colorado.
She is unlike any woman he’s met before…
So what do you think, yay or nay?
yay! It’s interesting! i already want to know what happened after meeting of Cass and Charlie on a flight.

Me too, I really want them to end up together right now. Also a novel with a dog in it is always an added bonus 🙂

Yay-ish, sounds like a heart-warming kind of read with a bit of angst so I am definitely tempted even if it is not the kind of book I’d normally pick 🙂

It’ll be a light read but perfect if you want to read something else for a change. I’m keeping it for that time when I’m in need of something uplifting with a happy ending (and I don’t mean solving a case and catching a killer) 🙂

Yay sounds like a nice read maybe a bit sad in places but over all a feel good book.

Whenever a book says “heartbreaking” I pause because I don’t want my heart broken! I have read some that required plenty of soft tissues. I’m going to let you read it first and report back!!

OK.. it’s an incentive for me, when I hear heartbreaking I think to myself I have to read it 🙂

True…. I would have missed out on The Nightingale which is one of my favorite books even though I went through a box of tissues!

I’m all for the live again trope but why must it always include a rebound?? Why can’t the girl figure out a way to find herself again without romance? It would just be so much better, honestly. Although I’m all for the cute Lab! ❤️

I get what you mean, you don’t need someone else to be happy again. It’s true, you can make your own hapiness but sometimes someone shows you a way out, and you might need that. I don’t know… I love the dog involved too.. I bet he’s the way in 🙂
