It’s only mid-year (actually a bit later but between deciding to jump in and actually making the list, we’re already a month further along) and I can already make a top 10 of reads that were pretty amazing so far. Here’s my top 10 of favorite reads till the end of July. Choosing my top 10 wasn’t so hard as I thought but I already don’t want to think about the end of the year because I already have one that I just read and absolutely has to be on the list so sad but true, this list is still going to change at the end of the year.
In order of reading this year, here are the books with the links to my reviews:
Hydra by Matt Wesolowski
It Ends With Us by Colleen Hoover
The Wife Between Us by Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen
Keeper by Johana Gustawsson
The Fear by C.L. Taylor
The Man Who Didn’t Call by Rosie Walsh
Guess Who by Chris McGeorge
A Scorned Woman by Jack Jordan
Never Go There by Rebecca Tinnelly
Jar of Hearts by Jennifer Hillier
So what do you think of my selection? Did any of these make it on your list too?
It Ends with Us is phenomenal! And yes I dread the end of the year and choosing favorites 😉

It really is, I think I’m going to dive into All Your Perfects soon now! Thank you Sophie!

I have Hydra and Keeper on my list for the moment. But I already have a top 20 and it’s only August so I can see things changing. This has reminded me I need to get a copy of Jar of Hearts. Didn’t I just say somewhere I am determined to buy anything? Argh! 😉

Haha sorry about that, but you just have to have that one ;-)! Thanks Eva!

Put my comment in the wrong place, it seems. So I’ll repeat it here: I’ve just ordered two of your suggestions. 🙂

Great list! A Jar of Hearts definitely is one of my faves for 2018 too. I read The Wife Between too though it was just okay for me. It Ends With Us is pure magic. I read it last year but can still remember just how much I was moved by the story. I need to get the other 7 titles especially now that they are in your top 10 list.

Oww thank you so much, it means so much to me that you value my choices so highly! I do hope you’ll enjoy the rest too. As for The Wife Between Us.. I love reading books about revenge (the subtle kind) so much, it’s my weak spot 🙂

I have The Fear on my bookshef waiting, perhaps I should bump it up my tbr.

I keep seeing The Fear on everyone’s list. I need to read it!

Really? Well The Fear is a great novel. It was the first novel I read by this author and I knew I had a good one in my hands quite soon 🙂

I’ve added Hydra to my wish list as it sounds like it might be interesting. Oh dear, so many books, so little time.

Yes! I love the format in podcasts, it works really well. This is the second novel by the author, after Six Stories which was one of my final top 10 of last year. If you sign up for their newsletter you can download Six Stories for free and see if you like the author’s writing 😉

My favorite book on your list “that I have read” is It Ends With Us!

It Ends With Us was such an emotional novel! Colleen Hoover is definitely one of my fav authors. Thank you Tina!

Oh, this is such a great list, Inge! And smart to do it at mid year to make it easier at year’s end! I loved It Ends With Us, The Wife Between Us, and Jar of Hearts, and now I need to add all the others. 😉

Easier I don’t know but I will refer to the mid-year top 10 so people will still be able to see the ones that didn’t make the ultimate list. Smart huh 🙂 It’s so great that you’re interested in reading the others recs. I hope you’ll enjoy them very much as well!

That is smart! You get some extra choices that way! 😊

I’m so happy to see Hydra there. Bought it recently (and Six Stories as well)
Also got Jar of Harts yesterday ❤
Now just need time to read them. Heheh.

And you forgot to mention the other 2 novels from the charity shop ;-). You have at least three brilliant books there. Six Stories was in my top 10 at the end of last year.. that ending was amazing!

Sadly I haven’t read any of the books you mentioned, but I would like to check them all out.

I’m sure you can easily pick 10 favorites so far too! Thank you so much though, if you decide to just pick one that you’ll enjoy it as much as I did. Don’t ask me to recommend one though, I really can’t!

Does that surprise you if I tell you Keeper is at the top of my list? :p And Hydra is around, too!!!

Totally not surprised! I ‘only’ read 3 Orenda books this year (I know it’s a shame) but 2 of them are in my top 10! I’m waiting for their next books though and I’m going to jump on that like I’ve never jumped before :-).

Most titles here I somehow even know without reading them because they have been all the sensation in the community and it’s great that the first half of the year has flown under the flag of brilliant books!
Happy to see A Woman Scorned on the list, too 🙂 Loved this one… and I just started Before Her Eyes now… Exciting 🙂
Hope the rest of the year is filled with as many good books 😉

Oh great! I postponed reading It Ends With Us until 2018 because I already knew it probably would be a fav and I already had plenty last year. I only have the problem now this year :-). I hope you’ll enjoy the other titles you have same as I did!

That makes sense! I have Without Merit lined up with the hope it will be another 5 star read… So far I’ve had only five (although I have a lot of 4,5 and 4 star reads to make up for it).
LikeLiked by 1 person
My top 10 so far aren’t all 5 star reads either (I haven’t checked even how many) but still well worth it. I look forward to your review of Without Merit, I hope to read it before the end of the year as well.
