Happy hump day!
I’m back with 5 new book covers to pick and choose your favorite one. This is just for fun so there are no wrong answers! OK, I’ll go first, then it’s up to you:
The Turn of the Key by Ruth Ware
I have cover 2 and I’m also going with that one. I like how big the font is, it’s so in your face that it feels like that’s the most ominous of all the covers.
The Suspect by Lesley Kara
Even though I have the second one, I actually like the first cover most of all. There’s just something about a message slipped beneath a door…
Dear Emmie Blue by Lia Louise
They do look alike but I still like the first one more, it’s much clearer this way.
A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder by Holly Jackson
That’s easy as well, I definitely choose cover 2! The first is too chaotic for me and the second is much organised and nicer to look at.
The Holdout by Graham Moore
Not so easy but I think cover 1. It’s a really clear image, one person is holding them up and I also like that they chose a different colour to make it even clearer.
So that’s it. Tell me your thoughts! If you can’t get enough, check out my previous post in the series: Battle Of The Books #13
Also don’t forget to check out the Secret Library Book Blog where Nicki regularly holds a book battle with AUDIObooks.
I liked first cover of each book.

Love these posts Inge! I prefer the keyhole cover for the first one, can’t decide on The Suspect and agree with you about the last two! 😀 xx

Thanks for the vote! It seems the keyhole is quite popular too!

I’m with your choices except the first one. I love that keyhole…it’s brilliant. The covers for The Holdout are a complete tie for me! Both have excellent visual metaphors which are strongly depicted.
I love these posts and getting your perspectives, Inge💜 You make me think about cover art more circumspectly.

I should check with Lynne if she’s done a keyhole cover feature on her blog Fictionophile (probably!) because it looks like the one with the most votes! I love covers and hearing what everyone’s preferences are! Thank you lovely!

I agree with your choices and for the same reasons, except the Ruth Ware: I prefer the first cover, with the key hole.
I ordered a book from BD last month and I got a completely different cover than the one I chose and I’m so annoyed!

Oh no, I haven’t had this happen to me yet but I heard stories.. it’s not fun at all when you don’t get the cover you signed up for! It looks like the keyhole cover is the definitely winner of the covers!

That first cover of the holdout is way better I’m torn between one and two but I think in the end the keyhole cover just stands out more on the shelves.

Yes that cover does stand out, very recognizable cover and it is clever to have a title with key in it and then a picture of a keyhole! Thanks for making and sharing your choices!

I agree with all of these except for maybe the first one… I do love that key hole! xx

Everyone loves the cover with the keyhole, they should just stop publishing the others :-). I have to read the book to really know what the best cover is though, is it lock and key or is it ominous and dark house :-). I hope to find out soon!

It’s both, but yes, you do need to read it, Inge 😄

I confess it’s been too long to remember which would fit the story better… Looking forward to see what you think! xx

Haha, I just noticed everyone like the keyhole for the first one – I have to say I agree! It just fits perfectly with the title. For the rest, I agree with you.

I know, it’s significant that everyone chooses that one 😄. I don’t even expect any other choice now 😋 Thank you for letting me know your preference too! Xxx
