Every single year it’s such a difficult decision to make! I read so many great books this year and I have at least 20 titles that I want on my list. I finally (after changing titles two more times) made a selection among my 4 and 5 star reads and here are 10 favourite reads:
- I Know Who You Are by Alice Feeney
- Haven’t They Grown by Sophie Hannah
- The Sight Of You by Holly Miller
- Strangers by C.L. Taylor
- What Lies Between Us by John Marrs
- Here to Stay by Mark Edwards
- Fifty Fifty by Steve Cavanagh
- Dear Emmie Blue by Lia Louis
- A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder by Holly Jackson
- The Cousins by Karen McManus
My top 10 involves: Two romance novels and 8 thrillers OR 7 paperbacks and 3 e-books OR two young adult novels and 8 contemporary adult novels OR 7 proof copies and 3 books I bought myself (What Lies Between Us was in my Capital Crime book club box too so actually 4 books I bought myself then). A bit diverse but overall my favorite genre (thrillers) and format (paperback) takes up the majority again.
If you’re a fan of lists you can also check out my favorite books of the previous years: 2019 – 2018 – 2017 – 2016
So any thoughts about my list? Are any of the titles I listed in your top 10 as well?
It’s a positive problem, having too many great books to put on the list! Glad to hear there have been so many excellent books in 2020. The only of the authors I’ve read is Mark Edwards, whom I quite like, so I may look into Here to Stay.

I hope you do! I read one other novel by Mark Edwards years ago which I enjoyed but this one is on a whole other level.

Well, I have to say it’s a fantastic list as all but one book is on my shelf (I suspect you were behind some of them being put there😏). Nicely done, Inge💜

It’s such a great, sweet romance novel, I think you’ll like it too. I’m reading another 5 star novel now btw (no idea how I’ll find words to write a review but I do already know it deserves alll the stars) A Thousand Perfect Notes.. if you haven’t read it yet can add it to the readlist too!

It is so hard to do these posts, and I only had a handful to choose from, so for you it must have been crazy! And guess what? I just went online and added them (though I had some already) to my wish list! Thanks Inge.
Happy New Year and all the best!

I read 56 books this year which is less than the year before but I still had more than 10 to make this list. The only way to do it is give yourself one time (ok two times) to change your mind and then just stick to your choice and not look back :-). Thanks so much Alex! Happy New Year to you too my sweet and kind friend, I hope 2021 will bring you joy and happiness!

I’m hoping to read around 50 books this year so I’ll have more to choose from come this time at the end of 2021. And 56 is still a great number, especially this year with all the worries everyone has had. Let’s hope we get to read more this year, with less stress.

Here to Stay is so special because I got the book in London with you, signed by the author himself. To have it on my top 10 list now too is just amazing! I definitely want to read all the other novels by Steve Cavanagh! Thank you Meggy! xx
