Birthday tag

I saw this tag on the Dutch blog Kwante in Wonderland a few months ago and I thought it would be nice to do this one too.

So it’s my birthday today and that’s why I’m doing this birthday tag. Naha I’m not telling you how old I really am but I will tell you that just last week someone told me that they thought I was 29. I’m being very serious and I’m not lying. It made my day so that’s saying enough :-). In my mind I quite like being 29 forever :-).

Anyway, September 19 is the 262nd day of the year (263rd in leap years) in the Gregorian calendar. There are 103 days remaining until the end of the year. Can you name celebrities who celebrate their birthday on the same day?

Jimmy Fallon (TV show host) turns 41. There are some other people but nobody I know… Renee Paquette, Lydia Hearst and Mandy Musgrave if you know who they are. Ronaldo is 18th of September and Stephen King 21th September by the way so I guess 19th is not so great a day if you want to become someone important in this life.

Is your birthday a (national) holiday?

Nope, just a regular day here. I like it like that because it remains my own special day. Wikipedia lists 19 September as a special day in Chile and also as the International Talk Like A Pirate Day. Arrr. Well I guess there could be worse ;-).

Somewhat less fun, who died on your birthday?

According to Wikipedia, lots of people were born and have died on my birthday but the one name I recognize best is  Jackie Collins (English novelist) who died in 2015.

What’s your star sign ?

How was the weather when you were born? 

It was a sunny day but not too warm (15°C) with more than 8 hours of sunshine. It was cloudy with some wind.

Anything important ever happen on your birthday?

1952 – The United States bars Charlie Chaplin from re-entering the country after a trip to England.

1959 – Nikita Khrushchev is barred from visiting Disneyland due to security concerns.

1982 – Scott Fahlman posts the first documented emoticons 🙂

1983 – Saint Kitts and Nevis gains its independence.

1985 – A strong earthquake kills thousands and destroys about 400 buildings in Mexico City.

1991 – Ötzi the Iceman is discovered by German tourists.
